Bravo Studio sat down with Juan Carlos, Co-Founder of TripMix, to discuss how they built their travel planning app using Bravo Studio’s no-code platform. In this interview, Juan Carlos shares insights on why they chose Bravo, the app-building experience, and how it has helped their startup scale.

Bravo Studio: What is TripMix, and what problem does it aim to solve?

Juan Carlos: TripMix is a mobile app designed for travelers—especially travel content creators and amateur travelers who want to monetize their knowledge. Today, many travel content creators share guides through platforms like TikTok, YouTube, or blogs, but none of these platforms are specifically designed to sell curated travel experiences.

TripMix is that dedicated platform. Here, travel creators can set up shop, create itineraries or guides with AI assistance, set a price, and make their travel expertise available to the TripMix community. If someone finds a trip they like, they can purchase it directly from the creator, allowing them to earn from their knowledge.

Bravo Studio: Why did you choose Bravo Studio to build TripMix?

Juan Carlos: We wanted to turn our concept into a working prototype as quickly as possible—something we could put in front of real users. My co-founder, Rajit, originally had the vision for a social, interactive, and collaborative travel app, and he had already created some designs for it.

With Bravo Studio, in just a matter of weeks, we transformed those designs into an app we could test and validate. We quickly received feedback and saw excitement around the idea, confirming that it was worth pursuing.

Bravo Studio: How was the app-building experience with Bravo? Was it intuitive?

Juan Carlos: One of the main advantages of using Bravo Studio is that it allows you to see your design translated into a working app almost instantly. In traditional development, there’s often a long cycle of revisions, and what ends up in the final product may not always match what was initially designed.

With Bravo, we could iterate fast—make a design change and immediately see it reflected in the app. This rapid iteration made refining TripMix much easier and more efficient.

Bravo Studio: How did AI-generated web components enhance your app?

Juan Carlos: We haven't fully implemented AI-powered web components in TripMix yet, but we've been exploring them with the Bravo team. It’s a game-changer, allowing apps to integrate custom features that improve UX and functionality in ways we didn’t think possible.

We’re excited to test and integrate these soon into our app.

Bravo Studio: What were some of the key features you implemented using Bravo?

Juan Carlos: One of the most powerful features in TripMix is our AI-powered itinerary creation tool. Users enter basic details about their trip, and AI generates an initial itinerary that they can fully customize. They can rearrange stops, delete places, and personalize their trip before publishing it.

This remixable trip feature is one of the core functionalities of TripMix today, and Bravo Studio helped us bring it to life seamlessly.

Bravo Studio: As a product designer, how did Bravo Studio help you turn your vision into a functional app?

Juan Carlos: Before Bravo, I didn’t have a background in backends, APIs, or authentication systems—it was all new to me. However, Bravo’s platform and documentation guided me through the process.

In traditional development, as a designer, you often rely on developers to bring your work to life. With Bravo, I could control the full process, making it much more efficient. The fact that I was able to do it proves that anyone can build an app with Bravo.

Bravo Studio: How did Bravo Studio’s support and documentation help along the way?

Juan Carlos: The Bravo team was incredibly supportive from day one. Whether it was building our MVP or getting the app published on the App Store and Google Play, they were there every step of the way.

Their documentation is also very detailed, making it easier to navigate things like OAuth, backend integration, and app deployment—all of which can be overwhelming for new developers.

Bravo Studio: How has using Bravo impacted TripMix’s growth and user adoption?

Juan Carlos: Having a working MVP early on allowed us to test our idea with real users, iterate, and refine our product based on feedback. This gave us the confidence that our concept had real potential and helped us fine-tune what TripMix needed to become.

Bravo Studio: What advice would you give to other startups or entrepreneurs considering Bravo Studio?

Juan Carlos: If you’re a founder, entrepreneur, or someone with an app idea, I highly recommend Bravo Studio. You can take your Figma designs and turn them into a live app in a matter of weeks. It’s the best way to test and validate your ideas before committing to traditional development.
